Her current interests include using computational modeling to address sex differences and obesity in cardiovascular diseases. She loves being out in nature, crocheting, hanging out with her cat, going on impromptu roadtrips, and meditating.
Graduate researcher
Brandon Velasquez
Brandon is a master’s student in biomedical engineering in the beat lab. He obtained their B.S in biomedical and electrical engineering at the university of Nevada, Reno. His interest is in modeling cardiac pathologies in rats. He enjoys hiking and stargazing in his free time.
Undergraduate researcher
Zarif Hossain
Zarif is an undergraduate student studying Computer Science and Engineering while minoring in BioInformatics. His research interests focus on automation for cardiac modeling, along with creating web applications. His hobbies include working out, playing video games, and watching/playing sport
Undergraduate researcher
Minnie Kay
Minnie is an undergraduate student majoring in biomedical and software engineering. She is curious about the cardiovascular system and interested in working in the industry. She enjoys playing video games, collecting figurines, and cooking.
Undergraduate Researcher
Katelyn Nguyen
Katelyn is an undergraduate student majoring in Biomedical Engineering. After her undergraduate degree, she hopes to attend medical school. Some of her hobbies include hiking, going to concerts, and cafe hopping.
Undergraduate Researcher

Graduate Researcher
Judith
Judith is a Biomedical Engineering PhD student rotating with the lab. She obtained her B.Sc. in Engineering from Swarthmore College. Her research interests include computational modelling and imaging. Her goal is to use these tools to better understand health disparities in different genders and races.
Lab Mascot
Hawk
Hawk is a cat who forgets that he is one; loves watching humans cook, and tries very very hard to be the sous-chef. When not sleeping in the most random spots you can catch him climbing blinds, opening doors, and playing fetch.
